“Friendship Multimedia” Reflection
The video for my “where I’m from” poem was something I had thought about ever since the concept of the poem was brought up in class. I had something elaborate in mind, with me animating almost all of it. However, as time passed, I found I was unable to go through with what I had in mind. It was far too much for me to complete in about a week, and I probably wouldn’t have even finished my original idea with the month or so that we were given to work on it. Even so, I’m happy with how my video ended up. I got to look for videos and pictures of a time I don’t remember too well, and I got to relive my past. I even tried to talk to Katherine, aka Kat, while working on this. She never did respond.
As for standards, I believe I “demonstrate[d] understanding of figurative language” while working on this, even if I couldn’t fit everything in the rubric into the poem (ELAGSE9-10L5). Along with this, I “produce[d] clear and coherent writing”, which showed a story and the turn of events as my life continued (ELAGSE9-10W4).
Although writing the poem was much more work than creating the video, I did spend a lot of time on both and am very pleased with the end result.
